A neighbor of mine had this in with his SA/CA cichlids such as JD's GT's and the like.He is moving and I swooped it up.I put it in with my FH and it is actually giving her a bit of a butt whooping despite being about the same size.

It has blue markings on its cheeks like a dempsy or a terror and has tiny blue pearls running down its body,which is golden brown in color.Its fins are orange for the most part.Its mouth is bigger than its face.He was convinced he had some sort of "Low grade P.Bass"

Do you guys have any idea what Ive got?

blue gill or sunfish of some sort I dont know exactly which one but yeah they are quite agressive

Well whatever it is its kinda chasing my FH all over the place,no damage but thats because it hasnt caught her,I dunno it was just an experiment what do you guys suggest?Give it a few?

Looks like a green sunfish Lepomis cyanellus.

Warmouth sunfish (Lepomis gulosus), have dark markings around the eyes that are very distinct and last until the fish is an adult.

When I googled images of warmouths and green sunfish I am going t have to say it is a green sunfish,which is crazy.I had no idea,thats not what I was expecting,I actually kinda thought it might be some sort of cichlid.

Anyhow its super agro,has some fair chompers,and is constantly chasing my FH.I dont know if I should just take it put for now and put it in the QT tank until my FH has some more size to her.(right now its got about an inch on her).Maybe she will actually defend herself if shes got size on it?

Or should I just leave them be for a few more?Like I said theres no damage,he only bit her once on the tail but now whenever he comes anywhere near her she tweaks out and I am hearing alot of splashing come from that tank.

I really would like it to work out as its a pretty neat combo IMO I like how his earthy (yet still attractive) tones contrast my FH's flashy colors.

What do you guys think?

Well............I have a Love / Hate relationship with sunfish......................Whenever i go fishing i catch a $h1tloat of sunfish.................But that is never what I am out fishing for............hahahaha!!! Cool aquarium fih though...verry agressive!!!
