i remember a long time ago there was a snake in my pond area and it climbed up one of my pygmy palms i didnt take a picture wich i should have it didnt have a rattlesnake head and it was tannish brown with a black square pattern on its back any one know wat it could have been??

So...You want us to try to help you identify a snake that you saw a long time ago, based on no photograph and a description consisting of the fact that it didn't look like a rattlesnake...?

it had squares on it not diamonds and it did have a head looking simaler to a pythons i know wat rattlesnakes look like and i know wat other native snakes look like but this snake looked different could it have possibly been a escaped python or something simaler?

I doubt I can help but I was thinking about what you said and how do you know they were squares and not diamonds... If you turn a square slightly doesn't it become a diamond??? Not a snake person but I do know my squares lol
