Here's another of my new pleco's that made the 7+ hour drive from kansas this weekend.

yep that's right, mystus nemurus, my MFK namesake, now renamed hemibagarus wykioides. but that's another story. I've had him since he was 2.5" he must be at least 15" now. He's had tank mates his entire life, first rocket gars, then various other's who had been added until he was about 12" long and I never had a problem, at that point he ate 3 scomb paraya's. the first one I wasn't sure how it died, the second two he ate over a weekend when I was out of town. Other than that he hadn't been too rough with his tankmates, when I moved home from school with all of my fish, he got a 125 to share with a couple of south american cats, seen above... he did not treat them well, so now he's on his own, well with the other rough fella, in the detention tank as I call it. The african has killed everything it has ever lived with, none of my fish thankfully, but he was given to me by the previous owner as an alternative to death. He lived with 3 RBP's that I used to have that were each about twice his size. He beat them up and kept them off to one end of the tank. That's how mean he is. The ARTC will fix that. Probably make him a feeder. I am ok with it. That's his story. I'm planning an indoor pond for him. The thought of owning a monster that big that has to live solo does get to me from time to time, but he's mystus nemurus, and I'm mystus redtail, I can't give up what made me, me. So, he'll stay with me. And I'll just keep upgrading.
