Myth or fact on arowana origin

first time heard that arowana native to the philippines
but wish they were more abundant
woould love to be able to fish for them.

I think the specimen pertaining to the record found in the philippines
was found in mindanao, philippines
Its in the DENR record but nothing follows
most probably native filipinos ate the golden arowana to extinction

I agree..My country men eat everything around here..thats what happens in a poor country the rural folk have no choice but to eat what's available and to drive into extinction species that could earn them a quick buck...it sucks! That was a piece of history, gone...

yeah, sad to say. but still, i'll still have an eye out for any news. last thing i heard from some folks is that they've still seen some green aro-looking fish a a year or two ago in some market or river fisherman's boat. who knows?
