Looks a good size, not a record breaker tho...

Here's a couple of large ones...

If you assume the person's thumb nail is 10mm I would estimate that jags tail 4"...
That's gotta be well over 20" imo....

I reckon the one in the second picture must be close to 2 foot.
Doubt anyone has one that big in their tank though.

The Jag that swims out from the back of the tank at 2:13 in this old Youtube video I came across looks enormous. What would you all guess his size to be?

Well if the euruptus was full grown, 10-12" and that may be stretching it even, then thats probably a 16"ish fish imo.

Both look around the 17 inch mark to me.

I agree. If you look at the first two digits of his finger wrapping around and figure its 2-21/4" long like mine, its 18" at most.

I hate fisherman's perspective pictures :/

I was having an argument about how big clown plecos get this morning. People were sighting sources saying 4-5" Ive never seen one bigger than 3", and at that size an extra 1-2 inches is in insane difference.

I completely agree with the fisherman perspective. It's like here in Australia one of the biggest freshwater fish we have locally is a murray cod and most information online says they grow to 180cm when there is only one record on the internet/history of them reaching this size and it is just a single article in 1935 repeating some fishermans story of the catch. Even though the biggest I can find on the internet these days would be lucky to hit 150cm and the biggest I have ever caught is about 60-70cm. I think when we get to these types of sizes 1' makes a pretty big difference in overall size. Just like the difference between a 24" jag and an 18" jag would be massive.

It is difficult to tell how large those fish are, in any case, they are extremely impressive, anybody would be lucky to own them or to catch them. Lets say for argument that each of those fish are less than 20", lets settle for 16"-17". Keeping in mind that Dovii easily exceed such a size in the aquarium and that Dovii are more heavily built and aggressive, we really understand the true challenge that comes with keeping them in the aquarium.
