s. maculatus it is... they do darken up like that during breeding, but the red eye is a trait that some have all the time, mine has bright red eyes too (not quite that bright tho)

based on an old post on piranhaforum.co.uk it's a S. rhombeus but based on opefe, it's not S. rhombeus.
