Nandopsis Istlanum 'Rio Balsas' Pair

I have 2 pairs of Istlanum from Rio Balsas. Im well pleased with these theyre coming on lovely. My males are 5"+ and females 3-4". Theyre hard to photograph tho, especially the females which just wont stay still!!
I have both pairs in the 8 footer at the moment, so far so good, no probs at all. My opologies for the poor quality of the pics

These are cool with each other, ive seen no real aggression at all!!! Apart from the odd gill flare, theyve always been pretty mild mannered. The only fish they dont get on with is my Herichthys Tamasopoensis. They are in a 300G community tank, so there are plenty of distraction.

yea, mine were in a 265G with about 16 species of other growouts and only 2" long but for some reason, the dominant male felt compelled to make his Istlanum existence the only one in the tank. I actually moved him into a 75 with 4 carp. vontehillos, 6 HRPs and 4 clown loaches today, all bigger than him, so well see how it goes. Thanks!

Interesting bro! What race are yours?? Maybe there is some differences in temperement with Istlanum from different collection points!?! The parents to mine were reportd to be kept in a 250G with 2 other pairs!!!!! The males were 7-8"!!!!!and spawned regular!!!
