nice jimmy! Are they rough with each other? I had 4 and the dominant male killed the other 3.

Today VRWC, i watched both pairs just chilling out together in a corner of the tank!!!! I will try and get a pic. There was no aggression at all, even the females were just chilling!!??!! All 4 fish were occupying an area no bigger than 12" square.

Interesting bro! What race are yours?? Maybe there is some differences in temperement with Istlanum from different collection points!?

they are/were the 'red' variant

I have a few other very interesting and beautiful species, but theyre impossible to photograph, being too small or too fast!!
The Herichthys Turqoise and Tamasopoensis are cracking fish, but only 3-4" long and impossible to shoot in the 8 footer. I am growing a group of Astatheros Macracanthus at the moment. Im very exited about these as ive wanted them badly for 7 years!! They are only small and very slow growing, i hope one day i can post a thread on these
