Napping Clown Loach?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
one of my yoyos i swear doesn't come out from "his" log....there is a hole in one end he can squeeze into and he does it constantly, and then i take the log out and he swims away, i put it back in he finds it and swims into the hole...only his tail sticks out

i hear a lot about clown loaches laying on their sides and being inactive, but my only clown loach scavenges the bottom of the tank most of the day and rarely stops and lays on his belly. Maybe it has to do with the fact that i dont have a school of them

You'd see it lying on its side during the night as it sleeps. Clown loaches have adapted to the lifestyle in captivity that I wouldn't consider them nocturnal anymore. Keep 5 minimum as these indeed prefer to be kept in groups.

i only have the one as the other mysteriously died but the one left seems to be happy living with all my other cichlids it is always swimming around in mid water, eating pellets and generaly scavenging.
