They sell American eels by me in NY. They are also all over the rivers, streams and lake here. They cost two dollars each. If you look at my past posts I have a video of one I bought. If you really want one find someone that will ship on Long Island and I can drop one off for you. I will even lose the two dollars so you just have to figure out shipping with who ever. Aquabid has been having nice natives showing up.
 
There's a fish farm fairly local to me that is licensed to produce paddlefish. They are very, very friendly toward hobbyists as well. They also ship.

If you contact them you could likely get some through these guys. The current world record paddlefish was produced on their farm and they have fish in their current brood stock that are larger than the IGFA world record fish was.
