Few good books that i have.....
Our Native Fishes by John R. Quin --- The best book in terms of how to ID, collect, and keep native fishes and tropical strays. Being a collector of tropical strays and native fish, this is by far my favorite book. Its my Bible.
McClane's Field Guide to Saltwater Fishes of North America --- Good for IDing but not so much in terms of keeping them.
There are a few other books that I have about Native Fish but I can't find them right now. I will post when I do.
Note: Our Native Fishes is out of print so the best place to find it is probably from a seller on Amazon.
