I agree with the catostomidae recommendation

I have a northern hog sucker (Hypentilium nigricans) and a white sucker (Catostomus commersoni) and they sift through the sand for a good portion of their day.

Also I had a spiny softshell turtule and he would burrow and poke his head out, between that and walking along the bottom he did a good job of sand movement as well.

I thought about them but they can be aggressive sometimes towards the fish which I'm looking to avoid

what kind of fish do you have, i have one in with some bluegill and he is fine. another choice is a bullhead, mine always digs around in the rocks.

There not native to the US, but you could use Malaysian Trumpet Snails to keep the sand "disturbed". I used them in my deep sand bed tank. But like Noto said, you probably don't need to worry about it.

I don't have any fish in there yet I'm just cycling and planning.
