Not sure of their range, but it looks similar to my slender madtoms.

Many of the species are very similar. Any chance we can get a better pic for an ID?

BTW, I have a couple of these guys and they have grown like weeds and are now beastly. They're only about 6" long, but they are really thick brutes and have lost pretty much all of the juvenile black markings. Probably the coolest fish I've ever owned. It's a frenzy whenever I feed them bloodworms.

From my understanding stonecat is just a common name for one of the madtom species though albeit a larger of the madtoms.....i could be wrong because common names on natives are tossed around so loosley in this area

nice shot.

Thanks. They were cooperating when I was taking some shots with my girlfriend's camera.

I did some googling and I think that this madtom is probably a Margined Madtom "Noturus insignis". Google it and the pics look just like yours including the really slender body and black margins on the fins. The stonecat seems to have dark markings on the base of the dorsal fin rather than the margins. It's range should include the river where you got it according to what I found on the interwebs.
