Everyone should know that yellow bullhead can be crazy towards tank mates it just depends on the fish. I've told this story before but I'll do it again because it's a good one (not for one of the fish involved) I had 2 same sized bluegill with a 13-14" bullhead and he never got either of them. One of the bluegill was the dominate one and beat the other one up pretty good. I decided to move it into a tank with Earl my 7-8" bullhead who's been by himself for awhile. There were no problems with Earl and the bluegill for 2 weeks, the bluegill healed up to 100% then one day when I came home from school it was dead with its eyes eaten out of its head. Earl's been alone ever since then haha.

Yeah I've recently had a similar thing happen. I've had my 10" yellow bullhead for over a year now since he was 3.5" and since then he's eaten 1 giant Danio out of the 6 i have and never touched anything else (well he tried to eat my Striper Raphael cat but spit it out almost instantly as soon as he felt the lateral spines.

But then there's my three little 4" yellow juveniles that I've kept with each other since they were little. One day I added 7 mudminnows to their tank and when I check a few minutes later I see THREE tails sticking out of ONE of the bullheads' mouth! The other 4 are now living with some angelfish :).

Just shows you just how different that individual fish of the same species can be.
