Regardless of whether or not he can have it...this is a big fish, that is almost constantly searching for food...it is going to need a very large tank.

Not knowing these fish either, I recommended a size that I knew could house them.

Little black fish come up on seine hauls really easy... but you need a scientific collection permit or display license to keep them. I have kept them for as long as 3 years at a stretch.... In my experience they don't grow very fast in captivity, which is probably attributable to improper housing.

They eat hermit crabs like popcorn! Easy to feed and entertaining fish. Even in a 210 I could only get 3 of them to go from 2-3 inches to 4-6" in 3 years. They simply didn't grow.
