Quick question, do you mean the pipefish (like seahorses), or the gar-like ones (needlefish).

seahorse. I know its pretty hard to believe i've caught one but I use japanese tanago hooks.

That’s impressive. I never really thought a seahorse/pipefish was built to be caught on a hook.
