The mud snails are a coldwater version of nassarius snails. When they found the chunks of krill in the tank they piled on top of each other just to get a bite of the krill.
if they are narcissus they eat mainly meat based foods so they would fight over the krill.

I think if i was to do a real native setup i would need at least a 75gal. Theres a species of crab in my area called a lady crab thats extremely aggressive so i cant put it in my 10gal.
The small size of the tank also keeps me from putting any native sculpins, flounders, searobins, or spider crabs in it.
I think one of the best things about a native tank is that everything's free and that theres no hassle when you need to get rid of something (such as a very aggressive crab thats killing everything in he tank), since you just have to bring them back to the beach!

Evemtually i wanna get a big tank and collect some Hippocampus erectus from the beach. I find them sometimes.

yeah there are loads of cool animals that just wont fit in a 10gal by me. ive got access to what are be describes as catsharks (dogfish to me), british native wrasse species, gurnard, members of the cod family, european bass, flatties, crabs, anemones... all of which i can catch 30 mins from my house.

although, returning captive animals to the wild is frowned upon, and illegal. do your research before you collect to avoid this. also make sure you are aware of the maximum size animals can achieve. most large species will stay near the shore as jeuvenilles and then move out into deeper water as they grow. and also any rules and regulations regarding taking livestock.
