native snails as food for native fish?

That's too bad. In my experience it just depends on the area the fish are from. The fish I've taken from canyon lake won't eat snails but the ones from onion creek will. I had a longear that used to suck the snail right out of it's shell.

Just remember that wild snails are often a source for flukes and tapeworms.
