sunnies aren't primitive, their just slow in the head lol i fish for them all the time and their not that smart and their native 100% good luck getting those fish you could catch them real easy from a lake or river but the redfin pickerel is realy rare u might have to buy it from a state hatchery or something but all the other fish you can catch

They are not primitive at all; they belong to the Percomorpha, generally considered the most advanced group of fishes.

i think i will try 2 catch some.

yep you should catch em. they are really easy to catch. i wanted to raise mine from babies so i put a minnow trap in the water and checked it every couple of hours. soon enough i had about 10 little fish in there, and a few were sunfish

Just go to the edge of a subdivision pond with a dipnet. Or you can go to a small local lake. Use a large handled aquarium net. Hold it in the water and throw some bread in the net. Pull up fast and you have a lot of fish.

that sounds like a good idea

Check your state laws first! In some states sunfish can only be caught on hook-and-line and have a minimum size limit. We don't want you getting in trouble with the law.
