Thanks bro. Very helpful. Is there anyway to sex an Oscar, other than waiting till they spawn? My 2 are going through the motions but I heard they will do that anyway even tho they may be same sex.

I never did agree with their rating system.

The best thing you can do for your Oscar is use pellets as the staple. As far as Hakari goes Cichlid Boi-Gold+ or Massivore are good oscar diets, NLS large fish formula is a better choice IMO but they both work. Unless you raise your own feeders (convects. mollies etc) I would steer clear of them and even if you raise your own don't use that as the staple. You could use rosies as a treat if you QT for about a month before using them, a lot of work for little return on investment. I feed frozen Krill as a treat and the occasional earthworm. Your fish will grow well and healthy on a primarly or even exclusive diet of pellets. Don't worry about rapid growth be concerned with steady growth, don't over feed. A clean environment and a healthy diet provided by a high quality pellet will reward you with large healthy fish for years to come. Hope this helps.
