I don't know. I've only seen an owl once in my life. I know we have great horned owls and burrowing owls though. I think it's too big to be a burrowing owl though. But we could have another species of owl that I'm not aware of.

if you enhance the picture you can see some crestings on each side of the head, which would lead me to tthink it was a Great Horned Owl, one of the largest of all Owls. I am no expert on Birds of Prey despite my passion for them, but the only other 2 species I can think of to share this characteristic would be the Eagle-Owl (which I believe is European) and the Long-eared Owl.......

This is most likely Bubo virginianus

Every now and then when its really foggy, the mist sits on the river and covers the houses on the other side. When it does, you almost get a false glimpse (I guess that's what it'd be called?) at what it would of looked like before people were here, and I imagine it would of been beautiful.. :)
