NAVY SEALS......ADVICE WANTED.....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lifes gunna be rough for awhile.

serious, it is 90% mental and 10% physical buts its 10X's harder than anything you've done before. 8 days in the field with 2-4 hours of sleep a day gets to you.

enjoy long hot showers, 8 hours of sleep, laundry washer and dryers, food and bathrooms whenever you need them cause for the next 5 months to a year your not going to have that...

good luck to you.. I really hope you are successful. enjoy the zodiac runs, I had to do one for about a mile and it sucked, you get to do it everywhere you go!

and sorry to derail a bit nativelover you in Okinawa? How do you like it there I lived there for 7 years when my dad was in the armed service and am half okinawan. Would love to get a duty station over there at some point.

Not much you can do to prepare for a training program designed to weed out nothing but the strongest of candidates.

Make sure you're maxing your PT tests, eating right, and doing a lot of extra PT every day to prepare for it.

If you've never been out on field training - then get ready for misery hygiene wise.

Don't push yourself into the point of injury is the only real advice I can give. Accomplishing your goals is all good and fine - but getting a disability on the side isn't worth it. (I broke my hip pushing too hard in RIP).

Thanks for the advice everyone and yea a week ago I had actually trained to hard and pulled a tendon on my bicep and it swoll up pretty bad. So I let that heal up and im training smarter now. I was told to increase ur speed in the water train swimming in current but I dont know any way of doing that this time of year...all the indoor pools have no current.

swimm with a shirt, Basket ball shorts and a pair of sneakers on.. its actually harder to swim in that than in cammies and boots.

Better man then I. Hell I hate swimming I couldn't pass that part if I had to.

good luck. i would tell you to have fun but that's not going to happen. lol

Good Luck bro! Im Army and been through some hellish training... however even the guys I train with said some horrible things about Seals training. 1 thing I will have you be prepared for is to be purposely drowned... You will black out... you will be fine though.
