NBA OFF-SEASON THREAD...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's getting awful qiuet on this thread...:irked: *cough scubasteve and onion...*cough

Appaerntly the Pistons are involved in the deal I've been calling for, and thats for Josh Smith, it's still only rumors, bu there's something there...

Also, if the Lakers don't match the Warriors deal for Turiaf, supposedly the Pistons will go after Biedrens as well because the Warriors will be out of money to match his contract because he's restricted.

well the lakers are brewing something up and will probably let roni go, i'm glad that roni's getting a fat pay check even though his moving to the GSW he was a great contributor to the lakers.

i'm watching brazil vs. germany on a fiba tournament..and i see dirk and caman on the german team, i didnt know caman was a german

I think he's saying that his parents are German, that's why he's there. The USA team could've used him I think...

Now the Mav's are offering Brandon Bass and Stackhouse's expiring contract for Ron Artest...

I actually think thats a pretty good offer, Jerry and Ron make pretty much the same money, plus you get Bass.

The counter was Artest for Howard, and Dallas turned it down. Interesting to see where this goes.

Smith will end up sticking in the ATL. He was born and raised in the ATL. Only team i could see him going to would be Orlando simply because him and Howard have a history or wrecking rims together on the ATL Celtics (yes i believe thats what it was). But the chances of that happening are slim to none.
Also Posey just signed with NO, but i don't see him being the difference maker, it's all on CP3 to take the team as far as he can.

Also about the rookie camp, I don't find that as news as its more or less just the NCAA without the emotion and the wins don't mean anything.

The reports ouot of Atlanta are that Smith does not want to come back as long as Mike Woodson is the coach, and Atl just signed on for 2 more years.
About him going to Orlando, it may make some sense in a hypothetical world, but you have to remember that money is involved, and there is no way that Orlando could afford Smith. They have Howard and Lewis, not to mention Hedo, and now Michael Pietrus. There are only a few teams left that could get Smith, and Orlando is not one of them.

And on the rookie camp, these are the guys who are the "nuts and bolts" of the league. You have rookies trying to make a team, and guys who have been playing oversea's or in the NBDL trying to make an impression. I think thats very interesting, but your opinon shows why shows like ESPN doesn't report it, because not many people do care about it.

I knew Orlando wouldn't be where he ends up, but I'm thinking he is talking a bit now, but i still don't really see him leaving, there have been larger shockers to me, but J-smoove just seems like he is finally getting it and Atanta is finally starting to get it aswell. They are going to start winning games if he sticks around and he knows it, its just a matter of whether a team good enough to get the chip will try to take him or if he stays where he loves the atmosphere and where is family is (even if he doesn't like the coach)

And the rookie camp is ok for gauging a little bit, but its really quite different then when going against vets who use a lot more trickery and are a lot smarter on defense.

I agree that it'squite different, but still, I love watching these guys, and a lot of them are the future of the NBA.

You know it's slow when Josh Childress is the big news...:nilly:

Yes at this point I'd rather watch the wnba "fight". They scream for equality but the dude that pushed lisa leslie is going to get f'd in the a, but i think the guy should get rewarded for stopping her.
