Here's something I posted a while back on the other thread...

Hey guys here's a list of who I would say are the most intriguing of the 08-09 free agents. Thought this might make for some good talk.

(r)-restricted

Josh Smith (r)
Josh Childress (r)
Emeka Okafor (r)
Luol Deng (r)
Ben Gordon (r)
Chris Duhon
Daniel Gibson (r)
Juwan Howard
J.R. Smith (r)
Allen Iverson
Andris Biedrins (r)
Monta Ellis (r)
Matt Barnes
Baron Davis
Michael Pietrus
Jermaine O'Neal
Elton Brand

Corey Maggette
Ricky Davis
Shawn Marion
Jason Williams
Nenad Kristic
Bostjan Nachbar
Jannero (the cat) Pargo
Andre Iguodala (r)
Gordon Giricek
Grant Hill
Ron Artest
Beno Udrih
Jose Calderon
Paul Milsap
Gilbert Arenas
Antwan Jamison

these guys are the most interesting of that bunch IMO, wonder if the clips will try to retain brand and maggete..plus B.Davis what would the warriors be without him, he should go to the rockets if they could afford him, that would make the rockets finals contenders IMO

there's also lots of talk that artest will got to the lakers but i'm not so sure that the "queens" would do that seeing that the lakers are div. rivals

But i've got a gut feeling that the lakers will get shawn marion for odom..

take smith dump prince..better rebounder and more athletic..man i would love to have LA get smith specially seeing as how he went toe to toe with KG in the playoffs

I'd be smiling ear to ear if we got Smith, he is one of the more underrated players in the league...

Some of those guys have options, like Jamison would have to opt-out, but if he stays he's getting like 16 mil. and I don't know if he thinks he can get that in the open market, so he might stay.

I would be surprised if the Clips kept both, or either, but if I had my pick of a current Clipper, it wouldn't be either of those two...

Odom to the Heat huh, sounds familiar.... I don't know how much better you would get in that trade...

the lakers wont be sacrificing any of the speed and athleticism they would actually have a faster team, marion has a better 3 point shot (kangaroo style), almost equal rebounds, loves to cut to the basket a better target for kobe's passes, and is a more active defender with quicker feet than odom, perfect for ray allen type of players who loves to come of multiple screens..plus the fact that he wants to stick it to the SUNS..

the only downside is marion has yet to prove that he can be clutch and a playoff performer..:(

but you never know phil likes this types of multi-position players, so i wouldnt be surprised.

He doesn't need to be a clutch player when you have Kobe in your team. I will take Marion anytime when i have to choose between them.

I dont know anything about basketball, but i saw Clyde Drexler from the Houston Rockets yesterday. I was visiting my old boss and he was there looking at time shares. He said hi and told me my baby was cute.

lol ... so thats all I have to contribute.

I would agree that his d is better, but I can't say that his offense is better. It's close, but I'm not sure.
