NC Gar

To the question.
Alligator gar do not live in NC, Longnosed do and the range of spotted's closely reaches central western NC. I'm unaware of them in the area though.
 
I know there are gar in the mid/lower coastal areas of NC but I'm not sure what kind...longnose/spotted I guess like Polypterus said. I went to a summer camp on the Neuse River close to the coast (Arapahoe if I remember correctly) and we caught lots of baby gar in one of those nets where one person holds each end and you walk through the water.

This forum is designed for and populated by those who generally keep animals that eat guppies. I happen to keep several livebearing fish and I certianly would not come here to expect information on them.

There are several better forums out there for discussion on livebearing or community fish. :banhim:
