Nearly Stung!!!

My female has an attendency to remove the air stone from under a piece of slate that I have in the tank. Well, while I was doing a water change today I figured I would try and place it back under the slate. While she was on the other end of the tank I started to postion the air stone underneath of it. It must have startled her because she came darting across the tank and slammed into my hand . I am sooo lucky right now that she didn't whip her tail up at my arm. Noob mistake on my part by not keeping an eye on her at ALL times while body parts are in the tank

I just did a water change, and I was moving around some drift water. I just keep think to myself please don't get spooked!!!!

what happens if you do get stung. is it a bad sting?

Depending on the severity of the sting, it could be pain that last a few mins or it could be so painful you need to go to the ER.

Seriously, it happened so fast I didn't have time to react. I heard a loud noise and then suddenly felt the fish slam into my hand. A split second later I was ripping my arm out of the tank with a heart rate probably in the 200+ range.
