mine was sold to me as a gold but i always thought it looked like a red.

red, gold, no real difference. depends on what its parents looked like and what you feed it. if you feed a high dollar or hikari diet, it gets that gold. if you feed a more lively diet, it will get that darker red coloration. IME of course.

That's a red oscar but i have saw them being called gold before.
