Need a bottom dweller for a community tank

what you got in your tank already, plus what size is it? plecos are a good start-theyre loads in the 6-8 inch range at assorted prices.

What size tank and fish do you have. Clown loaches work good. They get that big but it is hard to find them for sale at that size.

You could try Flagtail Porthole cat (Dianema urostriata) if you
can get them, get to roundabout 5-6in and act just the same
as corydoras just bigger.

the community tank is 50 gallons and there are 3 boseman rainbows, 4 bolivian rams, 2 opaline gouramis and five tiger barbs

Based on what you have in there, I would do a school of Corydora or Brochis.. Maybe some of the nice spotted corys or skunk cories? The emerald green brochis would be nice too.. I would stay away from any single specimen type fish, aggressive fish, or fish that grow large. With the peaceful small schooling fish you have, a school of small bottom dwellers would be a nice addition of color and movement. You could also throw in a fancy pleco or two..

Howdy,

I agree with Miles. Based on your current fish and also considering the 50 gal limit, a school of smaller catfisch will be best for the fish and also look much better. If you want to go for monster looks, then you should consider a few spotted raphaels.
