Need a bottom dweller for a community tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'll defer to my default answer: clown loaches.

Bumblebees make small fish disappear.
one of the smaller banjos, bushynose plecos, horseface loaches, yoyo loach, etc.

Skunk corys will shoal like the pygmies do, it is pretty cool.

you also may want to try a raphael or any of the loaches that were mentioned. maybe even a type of rainbow shark.

Clown loaches would be the best lookn small bottom dwellers in my opinion. But if not clownloaches. Pictus cats also look really nice and very active

i've always used suckermouth cats............i never like plecos..............this is the one i have now.......http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=938

I also have three of these beauties... Recently aquired... The did the most amazing thing for the brown algea growht... The made even the stuff i couldn't get off with a razor.. Dsappeear!!!!!!!!!! They also are some of my toughest in the tank.. LOL hehehe...

Note: they are not in the tank on my signature.... Too small...

I'd go with a smaller pleco (like a bristlenose, a tiger or most Peckoltias) or a group of corys. Won't outgrow your tank in the long run, like clown loaches. My 0.02 ;)

Best regards.

Daniel.

Never had good luck with loaches, don't seem very hardy. pleco's are a good choice but don't necessarily bottom dwell the entire time. tinfoil barbs are alot more active and don't bully other fish, better to buy them in pairs. they get fairly large too (about 8- 10 inches)
