Im thinking of getting some plecos, but because of the ------ price i am only gonna get two......for now....atleast....i think.....

So i have picked out some species at similar price. 100$+
Help me pick two, what would you do, is my question.

Leopard Scarlet Pleco-Pseudacanthicus leopardus 2-3cm
Dumus Pleco-Pseudolithoxus dumus 5-6cm
Gold Nugget-Baryancistrus sp. 4cm
Green Phantom-Baryancistrus demantoides 8-9cm
Sailfin Pleco-Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps 6cm ---WILD CAUGHT---
Scarlet Pleco-Pseudacanthicus sp. 3cm
Yellow Spotted Pleco-Ancistrini sp. (L-82)

What would you do?

If you go with large aggressive mid-swimmers ideally you would be best off with omnivorous plecos so the mid-swimmers will not outcompete the plecos for food. If it were me I without a doubt, no questions asked, 100% would go with both psuedacanthicus sp. and sell one later on when they start to outgrow that tank. Be aware that the gibbiceps, both psuedacanthicus, and possibly the gold nugget would need that size tank for just one of them in the long term. Also be aware some on your list are carnivorous and some omnivorous and ideally you wont want to mix the two. Also psuedacanthicus can be known to be aggressive and territorial.

I can get any fish to live and thrive but I've tried Gold Nuggets twice and both died. They're notoriously hard to get acclimated. Absolutely beautiful and I AM going to try again. But keep that in mind. My L200 has done excellent from the get-go, that's a good choice. Like Wingate said-get either omnivores or carnivores, it's not good to mix the 2 or someone doesn't get what they need. Keep in mind most plecs are wild-caught so always quarrantine and treat with something like PraziPro a few treatments. The healthiest and boldest Plec I've got is my biggest Dull Eyed Royal, he's an L191. They get 9-10" max compared to the L190 Royals who get 18" max. An L191 would fit good in a 100 g and they're soooo pretty. Check into them. Here's a pic of mine when he was a baby. I always encourage people to get Royals, they're my favorite :-)

Oh wow! That's the Leopard Plec :-O I had to look it up, didn't even recognize the 'real' name. Yea...ok so you're right, too. I'd dearly love to have one of those. I don't think my 130 g tank will hold another Plec though. I'm in the same spot as the OP-I want more lol

Without a doubt either of these:

Leopard Scarlet Pleco-Pseudacanthicus leopardus 2-3cm (L114)
OR
Scarlet Pleco-Pseudacanthicus sp. 3cm (L25)

PS: i also suggest L24 or L600

from what i understand the plecos i mentioned grow painfully slow so your 100g is fine for quite long time i believe. my L114 sits in 6' tank, it is a game "where is the fish" ...but got no small tanks
