Need a new computer. iMac???

I am a PC guy but recently I was given a Macbook pro and im beginning to like it actually, use it more than my Windows machine. What I did was I installed VirtualBox and I run windows on it so i have the best of both worlds.
Regarding the graphics program, the program itself may need a lot of resources, but the size of the file tou work with also takes effect on your comp...
As i said, i sometimes work with multiple files that are each over 150 - 200mb each, and when you have to work on 10 - 20 files that size it really eats up your comps resources...
But as you said, to each his own... I just cant stand using a slow comp to work on large files as it can take up to 2 min to move an object a few CM on screen

the files he uses the program for are large & he has have multiples open at same time. he can't afford to waste time waiting, 'cuz he'd never get the jobs done.
^ i guess im just surprised hes still using a 5 year old comp and able to run large files etc, since im using a 5 yr old mac and im ready to throw it out the window coz it cant handle all the files along with e-mails etc i work with... Just saving one file takes up to 1.5 min at times

How much is an iMac? Here is avert capable machine no building or whatever necessary. If you are thinking something different I can point you at it.
