I have a 29gallon tank and just recently my topfin heater broke, though it lasted 4 years without any problems. Before I go out and buy a new one, which brand should I buy?
Need a new heater, which one should I buy for a 29 gallon?

I recommend the Aqueon Pro Heaters. They are nearly indestructible, backed by a lifetime warranty, and are cheap on amazon.com

Plus if your in a pinch and need one right away, you can pay almost double amazon price and pick one up at any major name brand lfs.
x3. I've got a bad habbit of forgetting to turn off my heaters when doing a water change and fried two of them as a result. The Aqueon Pro has a safety feature that automatically prevents damage should you forget(like me) to turn it off. So far, I haven't fried my Aqueon and I'm very happy with my purchase.
Is the aqueon the black plastic one one with the green and red light? If so, I recommend that one. Its what I put in all my tanks.

Funny you should ask. I bought an Aqueon pro 150 a little less than a year ago for our 29g. Tuesday, I noticed the water in that tank was very warm, and. He king the thermometer- it was over 90degrees! Heater was set to 78- and was stuck on.
I let it cool, then put it in they sink with water checked with a thermometer. Plugged it in and sure enough- it is stuck on.
Called the manufacturer and the nice rep heard what I had done and said they would replace it at no cost. I no longer have my receipt so he said that normal procedure would be for me to mail them my heater and they would ship a new one. BUT, in this case, he had. E cut the cord on it, take a picture and email it to him. 10 mi utes later I had confirmation that a new heater was on its way. It arrived today.

*LOVE Aqueon products! Every thing from the water filters, heaters, etc., and even the value for the full store price, and the Life Time warranty can't be beat.
Wow you got lucky. At my local Petco, they wouldnt match any online prices for the Aqueon heaters because of the big difference in price.
