I've never had any luck with under gravel filters

Hey they're great for beginners.
If you want to play professional basketball
get one of those trashcan hoops and a nerf ball
may not teach you to shoot but if you get board
at least you're not commited.

If you want to do it get a canister and a biowheel.

Undergravels are not worthless! With power heads attached they do an excellent job of biological filtration. They do have limitations though, just like ANY other filter!

Thanks for the replys. for now I am running all of them Underground/with 4 powerheads, Fluval fx5 and 2 ac 110. I'm running bio-media and carbon in the fx5. Only a spong in the ac 110's. It's sure clearing up the water fast. I'm not adding fish till Monday or Tuesday next week. Can't wait! Thanks T
