When I switched from a HOB to a canister on my old 60 gal. I just set up the canister and let it run along side the HOB for a month or two then moved all the extra media to the canister and removed the HOB. No stress to fish, no mini cycle, nothing.
Need advice. Brown algae, fish gulping air.
