Hello everyone!

So I have a 125 g that I resetting. The only thing im keeping is an L096 Pleco (about 10/11").

I have my hear set on a Fahaka Puffer, biggest that the stores around here are able to bring in is a 2" specimen. Is a 125g enough space for life for a Fahaka? Or is it not enough water? Currently filtration is 2 AC 110S + an FX6.

125 should be good, 180 would be better. I feed mine a mix of pellets and snails. I tried to feed him mussels but he went to the back of the tank and sulked. I got him very small less then an inch and started him on pellets right away. He likes pellets, the harder the better things like carnivore pellets he will eat but only 1 or 2. He really likes bug bites cichlid pellets, larger spectrum pellets and 1 kind of north fin pellet. He likes crayfish, and krill. He has killed or went after all fish I've tried to house with him. I put a handful of guppies in with him every couple months, it takes a few weeks but eventually they all disappear. I have a breeding colony of guppies that I never intended on having so I know they are safe for him to eat.

Cool! If I get one it'll likely be very small as well so hopefully I can get it to eat pellets as well. Are floating pellets a better option or sink? Or basically whatever works, works haha?

When it comes to food that helps trim teeth, is it only hard shells like mussels n snails or would shrimp with the shell on still work?

Mine eats from the surface or as it falls so either should work. So far the crunchy pellets seem to be good with snails once a week. I don't know for sure but I don't think shrimp or krill are crunchy enough. The crayfish seem harder shelled then either of those, but mine stopped breeding for some reason. So I haven't fed those in about a year.

Mine couldn’t be kept with anything either. Way too mean. I fed it a frozen seafood mix from the supermarket. I made sure to throw it in frozen when it’s rock solid hoping it'll help keep his teeth in check.

Tried clams on a half shell but he never bit the shell and just shucked out the meat.

Did the frozen stuff do the trick or did you need to mix it in with shells?
