Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this fishes eye?

I never noticed this till I moved this feller and there was an incident. Lets just say that even tough trash bags are no match for these fish. Anyways he hit the floor. Smashed up his face a little and lost a bunch of scales. Healing up well but his eye is bothering me. I don't know what to do for it. Or is this D.E.????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like d.e Maybe when he smashed agaisnt the floor it caused his eye to drop.

Wow.....it does look just like drop eye. I would keep the tank stable and maybe add some salt but I dont think there is much you can do.

That stinx. I have had this fish in my possesion for less than a year.

I already took out "wiskers" a pictus cat of some sort (4 line). Maybe this could be from the jardini constantly staring at the catfish?

no

all aro's can get it, its cause is unknown.

although its uncommon for a jardini to get it

i see a fluid filled sac behind the eye.

Don't worry too much about it. DE have no definitive cause. There is a lot of debate about how DE is developed. Although the only thing I've seen concrete is about fat build-up in the eye, and surgery is required to repair that, and that's not even a guaranteed operation.

If he's still active and eating, he's fine. Aro's can live a healthy lifespan with the DE. It's weird that Asian aro's don't get DE as much as silvers, blacks and jars. Go figure. :grinno:

i think its jars and asian aros that dont get it as much as silvers and blacks

but this fish has to be the first jardini ive seen with drop eye :nilly:

It seems to me kinda wierd that it just popped up. Is there no way that this could just be an injury? I don't ever remember seeing it in his previous tank.

He is still very active, non stop infact, and still eats like an angry horse.....

Some luck........Don't I have better chances at winning the lottery than having a Jardini with drop eye?

LOL  i said it was uncommon not extremely rare!

wait and see, it could go away it could not, if its jsut an injury it should go away.

So you don't believe that enviroment/tankmates/ or diet could be contributing factors?
