Just bought a plastic drum , planning to make it into a canister like filter for my 120 gallon tank. my problem is , it sbeen used to store shampoo , i think? still smells like shampoo , even though i've used soap and water to clean it. it doesn't bubble and is not slippery, but the smell is still there. any advice on how to get rid of the smell?
also will it be ok to use if there's smell?
also about the design, what should be the output tube? should it be the top or buttom?
planning to use 3/4 inch pipe as intake pipe and a 1 inch pipe for the out.
should the intake be the top or buttom pipe?
going to use filter floss, bio balls and some sponge as media.
