need advice..

Think of it like a muffler, it reduces the velocity and creates turbulence before exiting. Same with this. You can even use a distribution pipe inside the tank (2"-2.5").

read his 1st post again and you'll answer your own question:grinno:

I think you should read it again. ;)

is there any way of avoiding this? I know guys running multiple fx5's on smaller tanks than mine, how do you do it?

My sister has a lot of flow in her hot tub but she doesn't have plants in it either. :D

"There is no such thing as over filtration, only excessive water movement!"

I'm running an eheim pro III 2080 and a Rena Filstar 4 on my 300g and I'm having problems with excessive water movement! on full effect with the eheim the fish looks like leafs at autumn and the plants lay down on the bottom.. is there any way of avoiding this? I know guys running multiple fx5's on smaller tanks than mine, how do you do it?

hmm.. not a bad idea! I'll work on it! could it be bad for the fish with to much pressure?

I have plenty of water movement in most of my tanks but I don't have plants.[/quote]

Are we seeing it yet Bud8Fan or you didn't see that he wrote the plants lay down on the bottom in his 1st post? That's the reason for my comment about not having plants.Jeez!Talk about knit pickin':screwy:

Dude, you in no way answered the question he asked. The stuff you highlighted in red were the facts on his tank not his questions. Plants have nothing to do with the questions. It's all about the flow in the tank. He was just stating that becaue his plants were laying down that he felt he had to much current in his tank.

His question was how do you avoid it and how do you do it.

It's not nit picking it's answering the question that is asked not just stating that you have a lot of flow and no plants. Woopie.

I believe both of us had already answered how to reduce the pressure.Hell I even agreed with you.
The next question was "could it be bad for the fish with to much pressure?"
I then answered "I have plenty of water movement in most of my tanks but I don't have plants. "
Maybe I should have worded it more like "the fish should be fine going by my personal experience but you have plants to consider where as I don't."
I guess I used the wrong wording like you stated in your 2nd post in this thread;)

Cheers, I'm buying, you coming along? ;)
