Last weekend, we added three more orange gouramis to our tank for a total of five of this type of fish. Yesterday, I noticed two of them were damaged. One has a good portion of his bottom fin and belly flesh chewed away, and the other has recent damage to his left side fin that is now inoperable. In other words, this guy cannot move this fin and seems to struggle to stay upright.
At first I thought it was the parrot fish that were attacking these two guys, but tonight I saw other orange gouramis (just one of them) pecking at the wounds of the most damaged gourami.
Whats going on here? Are they typically that teritorial? The two damaged gouramis seem so helpless and they both just hang around the top of the tank, maybe 6" from the surface. What can I do with them? Or, what should I do with them? I'll try to post some pics later tonight.
Just not sure what to do.. I am kinda sad about this..
