I'm planning to get a stingray... in fact i've already reserved one at the local fish shop that they've named 'mini stingray'...

Been looking on the net to try to identify wht species it is exactly...but my closest guess is it's probably a reticulata...

Anyway, i'm gonna be housing it with a silver arowana, some bichirs, a gar, a clown knife fish and a fly river turtle in a bare tank.... any comments???

Also, i've got this artificial 'rock-cave' thingy in my tank that's pretty smooth around the edges but i'm still worried if it'll pose a potential source of injury to my newly acquired stingray....

I really need advice...
your two cents are much appreciated...

I'd be more worried about the mix of species than the rockwork. What size tank is all this in? You have some veritable monsters in the making there. The aro and CK will grow over 3 feet. And, depending on species, the gar and bichirs are potential tank-busters, too. Not to mention the 35 lbs the FRT will eventually attain.
You also have soft acid water species mixed with hard alkaline water species. And, the FRT prefers hard alkaline slightly brackish water.
The ray with the aro, in a soft neutral to acidic setup should do fine. The others really need a tank set up closer to their liking. And don't mix the ray with the FRT. Any slow bottom fish WILL be bitten by the FRT. There are countless stories of ray-killings by FRTs on all the boards.

The rock cave thing shouldn't be a problem.

All the tank inhabitants should be fine, but I would keep an eye on the FRT and the gar. They could do some real damage if they wanted to.

I wouldn't keep it personally. All those above could rip it to shreds, the aro clown knife and the gar depending on its size.

Carl.
