:Dthats funny actually, it does still seems unnecessarily hot.

What grows faster, dovii or pbass fry? and I though pbass were pretty aggressive or would at least be able to stand up for themself
Bas are actually pretty sensitive as fry thats why the high temps and such .Dovii would be much hardier at this point .the p's might also be being bullied;)think of bass like an aro almost the same precausions bet higher temps.....

I think best thing to do then is keep it at the high temp like you guys suggest, and set up the divider as soon as poss.

Regarding my comment about keeping them in the bag 12 more hours, this a better option than sticking them in with the wolf-jags in your opinion?

Man, i wouldn't keep them in the bag for 12 hrs...that's just my opinion, but your better off getting a decent sized tub, or 5 gallon bucket w/ an air stone, and a small heater if you got one. and slowly raise the temp to 87...i know it sounds high, but i've had em(when babys) in temps up to 88-89 w/ salt to kill an ich outbreak when i first got em.

yeh thats the only time i ever go that high, for treating ich with salt.

All five of the 1st lot are now dead, but the 2nd lot are doing great; they are on their own now...150+ holes and many cracks repaired on the perspex; the dividers finally up and running and doing its job well, and the temps at around 84F, with 1 tablespoon of salt for each 10 gallons.

Any other advice for a PBass noob? especially at this critical young age/size. I'm currently feeding crushed massivore, bloodworm, daphnia, artemia, and a mixture I made a while ago of whitefish, prawns, mussels, spinach, garlic plus a load of other stuff I cant even remember.

Not from me....i'm not as expeienced as alot of others on here as far as Cichla, but sounds like you got it goin on, especially if you already have em eating pellets, and prep foods! :headbang2

ok fair enough, thanks though.

i dont like to feed live foods, other than ghost shrimp and earthworms, but they have a fair bit of growing to do before they can tackle them.
