save your money. Check out your local craigslist and browse the classified adds here. You can find a good deal for sure. You just have to be patient and be persistant. I found a 180g tank with filters, heaters and lids for $200 on here.

Right bud save money and buy used from here....IMO buying new is a waste of money when for the price your talking on a new tank you can buy a used complete setup and have money in your pocket for fish!

Yet again just take your time thats what this hobbie is all about patience lmfao can't believe me of all people is saying that but its true patience is the key.

It would be pretty ridiculous to pay 638 for a 150 imo, especially if it is going to take you a long time to save that much (which I'd assume that, being a 14 year old, it probably will).

no exaggration papawoody don't take my word for it go to the New Orleans Aquarium and take a look at the 3.5 foot pleco they have in with the pirahnas that thing is a giant .

I dont think ive ever seen a 3+ foot pleco or clown knife in a home aquarium ever. At best your clown knife will hit 24-28 inches and thats even puching it since the average in a home aquarium is 18-22 inches. There are some that will be bigger but not the 3+ foot range unless you have a 1000+ gallon tank

O and the biggest pleco ive seen in a tank is my friends and his is 21 inches but dies a year ago at the age of 11 during a power outage. My ck is almost a year old and he's about 10 inches. It also depends on where you get the fish from aswell because the giants you see are wild caught and breed not like most from a fish farm

Assuming you aren't just insanely hyperbolizing its size, it is definitely not any kind of "Common pleco" (Hypostomust plecostomus, Pterygoplichthys pardalis, P. disjunctivus, etc). At that size, it could not possibly be anything other than Acanthicus adonis or Pseudacanthicus hystrix, because nothing else even comes close to that size. None of the species referred to as "common plecos" get much past 24". The largest I've ever heard of was a Pterygoplichthys pardalis (the most common "common") that was supposedly 30".

What size tank do you have your fish in now? I wouldn't recommend paying those prices for either of those tanks. If it is going to take a little while to save for a larger tank, look at craigslist daily. You're sure to find a good used 125-180 gallon tank for a lot cheaper.

My oscars are both about 7" and my pleco is maybe about 8-9".The CK is about 2.5" right now. After hearing everyones responses I looked on craigslist and found a 120g in my area for $200. the dimensions are 72x18x21. Its not what im looking for because its too long too fit in my room or anywhere else in the house.
