i'm going to use my 55g as a wet/dry sump for my 125g.

i got a drip box coming, but should i use bio balls or biomax ceramic?

All bio-media does only one job...it houses the bacteria.

Sumps look high tech when they have multiple types of media and noobs will get on their knees like you are a filter god. If you want the most efficient filter, go with a media that has a high surface area to volume ratio. A single media doesn't look high tech but it is all about efficiency.

Bio-Balls have much more surface area than ceramics. And pot scrubbers blow away Bio-Balls. They look kinda trailor park though.

I live by pot scrubbers :D

I would use pot scrubbers *shrug*.
Bioballs look nice, but as CHOMPERS mentioned, pot scrubbers have a lot more surface area to house bacteria.

If you wanna pick between just bioballs and ceramic, go with the bioballs.

what are pot scrubbers? the sump is gonna be completely hidden, and i could care less on if it looks good. i just want it to do it's job.
