Need African advise for 75g

Thank you guys for the references. I’ll check them out.
I could see my husband leaning towards the peacocks. They are very colorful.
And I am excited that having an African tank will mean finally getting a synodontus:D I’ve wanted one for some time now.
A group of around 5 Synodontis petricola would look really nice

People usually get an all male Peacock tank as the females are quite bland in color and you need a high female to male ratio to avoid conflict.

To achieve this all male tank, you either have to buy them large(already sexed) or be willing to cull the females.

Peacocks are fantastic fish and fun to keep, so best of luck with whatever you decide.

I’m going to keep pondering it for a while. I have a couple spawning projects I’m going to focus on now till I make my mind up.
But... because I do enjoy raising fry I kinda think I’ll go with the 1m to 3f ratio. Then maybe after a few spawns I can just pick out males and switch to an all male tank that way. It might be a fun project.
