Have a read but pretty much 1000LPH (same as 2217) just more media and same contact time not a bad system imo. may be a little to slow with contact time, I dont know have a read. 1000LPH over 15L of media is not very much maybe thats why they stopped producing it.. 2217 is 6L and has 1000LPH 2260 has 22L and 2400LPH just to give you an idea.

one thing I was going to say is try to find some where to get replacement parts as its not a common model but then I remembered its an eheim so you should be fine :D

Thanks for the information. However I meant "what is the difference between the eheim pond filters and the 22XX family". Some look very very similar.

As Squirtle919 and drb have stated that's a 2250 model, it could be the pond model but the only real difference would be the length of the power cord. Just make sure it comes with all the fittings and parts because they can be expensive if your buying replacements. Here's a link to the manual so you know what it's suppose to come with.

Thanks. I'll give the seller a call tomorrow. The pond model would have a longer cord, I would assume?

I see... but... the price is ridiculous. I don't know how much the 2250 retailed for (I can't find it) but I'm pretty sure I'm getting a good deal

It is definitely the 2250 Pond filter, you can see the sponge insert underneath the gray cover and the pump has the 10m power cable.

You will probably have to buy the threaded inlet connector for the bottom hole if the previous owner doesn't provide it because the original fitting setup is different, it's all hard piped.

Here is a link to the parts diagram.

Thanks. So... everything would be hard-piped? That would mean I would be missing the hoses, input with strainer, and output pieces?

I called about it. The guy had a very thick german accent that made me giggle. Germans supporting solid German engineering! Anyways it IS a pond filter, and doesn't come with any piping or hosing. When I asked for measurements he said it was stored away but he thinks it is about 15-18" in diameter. Brand new, never been used, and very large.

I think this is more hassle than it's worth unfortunately. I really wanted this to be more aquarium-ready. Thanks for the help from everyone. /thread
