While they both look sort of similar there are things i see in the OP fish that still make me say pink fen. First the OP fish has dark orange eyes like many pink fenestratus not the white to light yellow of the red tilapia i have seen or in the pics of them i googled. Second the fins are more rounded like my young pink fen and many other googled pics of them whereas the red tilapia seem to have strongly pointed fins even when young and in both male and female fish. Third in general red tilapia have more red or darker red/orange in their fins even when young. I will give that in some pics both look like they have a matching head/nose shape but from a good side shot they are different.

I will try and get better pictures in the next few days if needed. I have heavy mineral well water so it is a constant fight with water spots on my glass. These are my two supposed to be pink fenestratus one of which has a small amount of black in it.

It's not a pink fenestratus. They have a different body shape. The head on the OP's fish screams tilapia. Fenestratus also never have a smooth consistent color like that. They have a mix of pink and white and as they mature they get blackish blue tones mixed in. They never show that smooth consistent pink. I've kept catamaco fenestratus for 10 years and have raised a lot of fry and they never look like that. It's an Oreochromis, I can see why it could be easily confused though.

So looking at my smaller of the two which is colored a lot like the OP fish what would you say it is? The store i got them from is a good fish store that knows fish as their employees do to at least in their intrested field of fish. About half of the pink fen they had were this solid uniform color and the other half mottled white and pink and redish some with small amounts of bluish black areas developing on their fins like my bigger fish. For size ref my bigger fish is about 3.5-4 inches not counting tail fin and the smaller one is about an inch smaller. My flash was washing out the center body area on my smaller one but it is the same color as the rest of the body right now. In your opinion is it a fen or did they have two similar fish mixed in the same tank?

It's a fene and it is not solid pink based on the picture you posted and even if it appears that way at the moment it will not keep that coloration long term.

the OP's fish is not a pink fene and it was purchased as a red tilapia. There is zero reason to think it is anything other than that.

The OP started this thread asking what the fish was even though after several opinions were given they then let us know that the fish was labeled a red tilapia. That being said there have been many many fish bought from lfs as one thing and found out after posting that the fish was another. So rather or not it is for someone to come back and say because it was purchased as a red tilapia that there is zero reason to think it is anything other than that is just as often wrong as it is right.

Dude, it's a pink tilapia. It's clearly that OP's fish has large mouth than onefowl1's Pink Fene which has a small mouth.
