Since ID in person is easier than in a photo I can tell you I have seen Tiger Musky in a few LFS in this area recently and that is indeed one of them. You could go through a billion Pics trying to find two that look alike and it Ain't going to happen. These fish are highly variable.

Tiger musky are Hybrids and as Hybrids will show varied traits of both Musky and Northern pike..They will when young show varied coloration, Cheek scalation and
submandibular pore counts. What always gives them away though is they always have one or more traits of both fish and you will not see this in any pure strain Musky or Northern pike.

this is an old thread but someone ID'ed my old fish as a Grass Pickerel. they all look very similar to me.

thought it was interesting...

Those pics don't look like any pickerel I have seen.

Do you have any more pics?

Possibly of when it got bigger or with some light.

I got two tiger muskie from a pet store too, they looked just like yours, I thought they might have been miss ID'ed too. But as they grew they lost the line through their eye, and the blotches turned to stripes.
