Need betta info

This sounded a little rediculous to me but i a friend of mine was told by a fish store owner that if a male betta is kept in a small bowl with no filtration system it will produce it's own eggs. It didn't soundright to me but i figured i would ask.

Tell that perspn that they need help. A male beta can only make the bubble nest (this is maybe what they thought were eggs) and only the female beta can produce the eggs.
