More driftwood and a background.

And an appropriate thread title.

I chose a black background over a 3D background ;)

I love driftwood in my tanks, so you could definitely put some in to spruce it up. If you are worried about the tannins (makes the water brownish) you could just boil it so that all the tannins leach out or soak it in a bucket of water replacing the water daily until the water is clear.

Some plants would also be nice. I like plastic (instead of fabric) because they are easier to clean. A nice background would also be great.

here is my tank with brown water aka black water:)

Tea anyone?:D J/K. take out the flower pot and bunch up the fake plants in one of the corners of the tank behind the driftwood and see how that looks, but this looks like a better improvement from the original.

^i like only the natural look alot, nothing fake(except plants)

3d backround is out for sure.

shurely a good quality 3d background i.e (back2nature ect ( http://www.backtonature.se/index.html )) would look more natural than the wall behind the tank , but as i said every one has there own preferances and if thats how you prefer it then thats how it should be.

i agree with kilbane i would remove the plant pot , put that great centre piece drift wood in centre the smaller pieces at the rear corners and put several plants of various sizes around the two smaller peices of driftwood ,but hey its looking much better than when you started (looked a bit sparce)

keep up the good work

If you had everyones opinion, you wouldn't know what to do lol.

Adding some big chunky peices of driftwood, a single colour background (Or 3d one) and
more mid dwelling fish would spruce it up.
Carbon in the filters as well as large water changes will get rid of the tea coloured water over several weeks.

well thats what my tank used to look like when i have my breeding pair of festae's thats why the pot was there, it was the egg surface.

the 1st pic is what my tank looks like now.

Take out old stuff and add new, rocks, drift wood, caves, plants, ect.something very different then what you have.make it look like a whole different tank.

Add background, driftwood, more plants, the monster bubble wand and immediately send all the bichirs to me. Refill tank with new fish, boredom solved.:grinno:

I know its a matter of personal tasts but get a flamin' background-I'm amazed by the number of fantastic tanks I see on this site that don't have backgrounds. You end up staring at flowery wallpaper or oddlooking curtains-I personally feel it makes a huge difference to the tank and fish too
