Iv'e got a chance to buy a 125 gallon tank brand new for real cheap but ive only got like a few hours to make up my mind. So my question is can i keep a red devil and a butterkoferi togther in this tank long term ?
thanks in advance

you can keep then in there for life as long as you can find a rd and butti that will get along. thats the hardest part

I would say there is a very good chance it wouldn't work long term. If you get a divider you could do it.

well the thing is both of tem are in a 75 gallon right now and its ok for the most pert except for when they bump into each other then the battle starts and sometimes the devil just wants to pick a fight with the butti and the butti just try's to avoid the attacks for the most part untill he get po'ed and then he puts the devil's entire face in his mouth. But they are still young fish the butti is 9'' and the devil is 8''. The devil has been in there just under a week and i was told some bad info by the lfs and i was an idiot and impulse bought the buti before knowing too much and he just got put in there las nite. and it made the tank look a whole lot smaller real fast so i think im gonna upgrade to the 125

Get the 125 for sure a 75 is way too small. Have a divider ready.

on a lighter note i got a real beautifull butti i cant tell if its male or femal but ill vent when i put in the 125 . also whats an average price for a butti thats 9'' i think i was over charged i paid $ 76.00 after sales tax

yes thats very steep. a 2 inch butti wholesales for approx 2.00. i wish i would have known i would have gave you my 12 inch butti for free.

Price on the fish is irrelevent.. If your happy with your fish that's all that matters. If you already have both in a 75 gallon your kind of obligated to upgrade them. Just be glad an upgrade is possible for a good deal ;) Go get it and post pics, I want to see!
